BIOGRAPHY
SPOOKYMAN, pseudonym of Giulio Allegretti (Rome, June 19, 1986), is an Italian singer-songwriter, composer, and multi-instrumentalist.
He is known for his musical style, which he defines as “Weird Music” or “Atomic Music,” comprising genres like Blues, Electronic, Space Age Pop, Acousmatic, and Lo-Fi.
Passionate about design and electronics, he designs musical devices and visual apparatuses that he uses during his live performances. His creations include a modified television set to function as an oscilloscope and an acoustic-visual instrument called the “Acusmofono.”
From 2010 onwards, he has worked with theater directors and videomakers as a soundtrack producer.
In 2015, he composed the song “Chat Noir” for the Italian band “Le Cardamomò,” included in their album “Vive la vie.”
His recording debut came in 2016 with the self-produced album titled “Spookyman,” containing 13 original tracks, twelve in English and one “ghost track” in Italian.
In 2021, he released his second album of original songs as a quartet, titled “Blood, Sweat and Tears” (Bloos Records), under the name “Spookyman & The All Nighters.”
In the same year, he mixed and mastered Corey Harrys’ album “The Insurrection Blues.”
In 2023, he released his latest single “Crawling Wails” online, announcing the release of a new album set to come out in the following months.
In the first half of 2024, he traveled overseas to the United States with his “Acousmatic Orchestra” for a tour of 18 concerts across California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas, and Louisiana.
During his tours, he has accumulated experiences on important national and international stages, including: The Broadside (New Orleans - USA), Double Down Saloon (Las Vegas - USA), Voodoo Rhythm Hardware Store (Bern - CH), Barbarie Festival (Biel/Bienne - CH), La Casa del Jazz (Rome - IT), Forte Prenestino Festival 1° Maggio (Rome - IT), Santa Maria Blues Festival (Azores Islands - PT), Augustibluus Festival (Haapsalu - EE), B:O:M:B Festival (Bremen - DE), Gonna Rip it up Festival (Graz - AT), One Man Band Festival (Portalegre - PT), and many others.
To this day, in his Roman home, he balances his musical creativity and artistic flair with the simple yet solid values of his roots, never losing sight of the beauty of small things.
